Libby - I think the salt is working (fingers crossed).
Libby is still on the bottom - he was very active this morning but a couple hours after he camped out and has really stayed there. I added a dose of prazi this afternoon hoping that would help. She's...

This is going on too long I think. She is still doing it so much it is really scaring me.She's now doing it at the other side of the tank too.Sometimes she does the head shake shortly after. I can't...

If it is something irritating her - would a salt dip be safe? Would it improve things at all or risk making her more susceptible to something. I've never done one before.DH says she's a goldfish and...

Do me a favor and run down what she's had when.BettyVisit our Sister Site, Koivet for more info on goldfish and koi health.

Did he react when you added the prazi being? What do her gills look like?Appetite still good, dorsal up etc?Wanna try doing a scrape to try and see if there are flukes? Tho if there were, they should...

Her dorsals up. I looked at her gills earlier this week - one side has edges that are not crisp - hard to describe they don't look ruffled. I can only see the top layer. But the edges are shorter in...

So it's been a week since the prazi. So when would be a good time for you to pull out the scope and try a scrape? have you practiced yet looking at other stuff to get the focusing thing down?BettyVisit...

I haven't used the scope at all - it was a bad experience. I can play around with it after hubby goes to bed and when I'm back from shopping. She's definitly doing a body swim and mordi's doing the...

Added the salt.I'm actually a bit scared to add the prazi after last time. It was probably just a coincidence though.I'm nervous as heck about the scope too.How long would a sample be good for? Linda...

Samples need to be fresh. Movement is one of the things we look for.I'd think a vet tech could use a scope.BettyVisit our Sister Site, Koivet for more info on goldfish and koi health.

Libby is knock on wood - is seeming to stay away from the surface today. I think the salt had to have something to do with it. Here's my train of thought - if 40tsp led to this much improvement -...

bringing it up to .2% couldn't hurt. You could scrap the inside of you cheek. Goop off the filter pads.BettyVisit our Sister Site, Koivet for more info on goldfish and koi health.

Goop off the filters would be very fun to look at! I would hold off moving her to the 90G until she's been normal for a week or so. Maybe if Mordi is going to lay eggs move her over so Libby can rest.

Mordi hasn't laid eggs yet and Libby isn't chasing her. I will separate them if he starts. I'll check out the price of an extra heater today (DH will kill me). Adding salt to the 90 would protect...
